Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 & NEAL Recorder Interview Training

On 26th and 27th March 2018, Barnsley and Barnsley delivered 2 one day courses to Argyll & Bute investigators in Lochgilphead and Helensburgh.

The training covered:

• The draft code of practice on the Questioning and Interview of suspects under the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016
• The PRICE model of Investigative Interviewing
• The use of the NEAL interview recording machine

The courses involved the practical use of the machines to facilitate interviews under caution. The participants, from Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Planning were fantastic over the two days.
